Uniform
The School has a uniform for all students and expects them to be correctly dressed for school. download uniform order form
- Plain black trousers / plain skirt knee length or below and any belt worn must pass through loops and be plain black. (Denim, black cotton jeans-styles, flares and combat trousers are not acceptable). Tailored shorts are permitted during the summer term but must be knee length or below. Trousers, skirts and shorts must not sit below hip level.
- Plain white polo shirt.
- Black School sweat-shirt with school badge. Sweatshirts are part of the uniform and not to be replaced by jackets
- Shoes need to be black and look more like shoes than trainers without obvious logos and with heels no higher than 2”. (Training shoes, plimsolls and baseball boots, sling back, platform, sandals or open toe shoes are not acceptable.)
- Have an appropriate coat in the winter
All items of uniform should be clearly marked with the owner’s name.
Jewellery, Hair, Uniform and Mobile Phones
Jewellery and Piercings:
The only jewellery allowed is one small plain stud earring per ear. No hoops or large ‘diamond’ studs of any sort are permitted.
Any inappropriate jewellery will be confiscated and kept in the school office and must be collected by a parent.
Body piercing (other than for one pair of pierced earrings) are not allowed. If students come to school with pierced body jewellery, they will be asked to remove it. Students are not permitted to cover piercings with plasters.
Form Tutors are asked to have a special concern for the students in their tutor group, including checking at morning and afternoon registration that students are appropriately dressed.
Hair styles:
Hair is to be of a conventional style and cut. Extreme styles, shaved and coloured or styles with wedges or razored parting are not permitted in school. A number one or two clipper/grade are not allowed on any part of the head. A number three is acceptable to us.
Make up:
Students must not wear make-up that is obvious. This includes coloured nail varnish, eye liner, lipstick etc. In Year 11 students are allowed to wear appropriate make-up as a privilege.
Consequences
If any students choose not to adhere to our rules regarding uniform they can expect to face the following consequences:
- In the case of clothing or shoes, students will either be sent home to change or parents/carers asked to bring an alternative in to school.
- If parents/carers are not available then appropriate alternative clothing or footwear will be provided by the school office to enable the student to continue with lessons.
Mobile Phones
1. Phones must not be used for any purpose (eg phoning, texting, surfing the internet, taking photos, checking the time, taking videos) between the hours of 8.35 am and 3.20 pm. The only exception is when the teacher gives explicit permission at the start of a lesson for students to listen to music while working.
2. Phones must always be switched off (not on silent mode) and kept in lockers or the school office.
3. If a phone, ipod or headphones are seen by staff outside of this specific privilege they will be passed to the school office for collection at the end of the day. If this happens again It will be returned to the student on receipt of a letter from parents, or if the parents collect it from school.
PE Kit
- Red polo shirt
- Black skirt for girls and shorts for boys
- Red socks
- Red School sweatshirt
- Tracksuits (if worn) should be either blue or black
- Shin Pads and gum shield (optional)
- Swimming hat must be worn in the pool
- Indoor trainers
- Outdoor football boots/trainers

Equipment
Students are expected to bring the following items to every lesson they attend:
- A note book (Rough Book)
- Pencils
- Pens, rubber, ruler, set square, angle measurer, highlighter
- Pair of compasses
- Pencil sharpener
- Set of coloured pencils
- Calculator
- Dictionary
All items of personal property should be clearly marked with the owner’s name.
