48 year 10 and 11 students started their holiday to Classical Turkey with 3 nights in Istanbul where visits included the Blue Mosque, the Byzantine Church of St Sophia and the Topkapi Palace. Students also enjoyed a boat cruise along the Bosphorus and bartering in the Grand Bazzar. We then headed south to the Coastal town of Canakkale, visiting en route, Gallipoli, a grim reminder of the allied assault during the First World War. The beautiful resort of Kusadasi was our base for 3 nights. From here we visited Troy, Pergamun, Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis. The students also experienced wading in the warm thermal waters of the calcium deposits at Pamukkale.
