During the Science week the school received a visit from ‘Dr KaBoom’, who was able to demonstrate the strength of some very unusual objects - who would have thought that paper cups could take the weight of three students. ASHS invited students from across the Cluster of local schools, so they could work together during this fun and interesting event.

A coastal fieldtrip for Year 8 students to investigate sea defences at Overstrand, Sheringham and Weybourne.
The trip also saw some of the effects of coastal erosion and the impact it has on local communities.

This trip focused on preparing students with their speaking GCSE exam and experiencing a new culture.

Year 10 GCSE PE group visit Swanton Morley Army Barracks. Their first tasks are group teamwork events. (1) How to cross the boxes and pick up the toxic waste and deliver it to the right area. (2) How to use poles & ropes to pick up a lost package from a valley?!
Then its time to get the correct equipment on for the Assault course. The Sergeant takes no back chat and the pupils are soon doing press ups! A quick yomp to the course where its time for a vigorous warm up.

Chris Brown, the professional player from Horsford Cricket Club, comes into school to give our pupils free coaching as part of the Norfolk Cricket Board’s 10 hours of free coaching for High Schools.
